In addition to concerning itself with the Avenue’s commercial health, the Mont-Royal Avenue Business Improvement Association intervenes on behalf of the whole neighbourhood, and also deals with issues involving the community that lives there, its environment, culture, problems, attributes, etc., so that sustainable development becomes intrinsically linked to its mission and method of intervention. However, the Association wishes to expand its involvment in this area even more. Mont-Royal Avenue becomes one of the first business arteries in North America and the first in Quebec to adopt a sustainable developement plan (below).
